Siobhan Dowd
I found out yesterday, belatedly, that Siobhan Dowd died last month. She was an extraordinarily gifted writer, and by all accounts, an extraordinary woman. There aren't many people in this world that can write like she could, and I for one am sad that somebody so firmly (and rarely) dedicated to both writing and people in equal measure isn't around anymore.
